Designer Profile
I bring more than 10 years of education and expertise in interior design to Urban Essentials. With access to furnishings, lighting, art and accessory vendors from all over the world, we will together create a unique interior space. I partner with craftspeople, artists, painters and other professionals in the metro area to complete the design.
Your project will reflect your needs and desires, as well as your budget. Each piece is custom made for you and your space. We represent manufacturers who are nationally known, as well as small boutique companies that are making just a few well designed objects. Quality workmanship and materials, concern for the planet as well as your home, durability and timeless design are the criteria for our selections.
My style is your style, but you can expect me to advocate for a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, and to steer you to the practical, functional and comfortable.
My history - As a graduate of the Master’s of Fine Arts program in Interior Design, from the George Washington University at Mount Vernon College, I began my design life as an intern with a design firm. Once I graduated, as principal of my own design studio, I was responsible for all aspects of the design process, from programming to completion, specializing in the design and management of residential renovations and commercial office projects. Other commercial experience includes work for a hospitality design consultant, developing design standards, consulting on concept and brand development, producing schematic designs, and advising on equipment specifications and layout. In addition, I have taught at GW both graduate and undergraduate courses in the Interior Design Program.
I am a proud professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers, and I am NCIDQ certified.
