Annie developed her eye and aesthetic sensibilities studying 20th-century art and working in some of the nation's top museums. Annie graduated from Milton Academy in 1988 and studied English and Art History at the University of Pennsylvania. She went on to earn an M.A. from the Williams College Graduate Program in the History of Art. Her career in museums included an internship at New York's Museum of Modern Art and senior positions at Philadelphia's Rosenbach Museum & Library, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and the Smithsonian Institution.
Annie ultimately realized that she was too removed from art itself and how people interacted with it. What really fascinated her was the relationship between people and their surroundings.
After some coursework at the Corcoran College of Art + Design, she took her love of art and color-and her training in color, balance, and proportion-and made the shift to interior design.
Annie and her team create outrageously beautiful, color-filled homes that inspire the people who live in them. She believes that when you live in a home that reflects who you are and what makes you tick, you feel invincible.
Bossy color is a full-service interior design firm. We create and implement Design Plans that include thoughtful color palettes, antique and modern furniture, rugs, pillows, wallcovering, light fixtures, custom window treatments, and, importantly, artwork.
